Cleaning and Arranging Your Home For A Party

Congratulations on your recent corporate promotion! Now you want to celebrate your success by having a home party. Aside from preparing the menu, decorations, and activities, you need to make your house itself ready to accommodate your guests. Here are tips on how to clean and organise your house so that your guests can enjoy a comfortable place to party.

First, walk around your home, and take note of the places that need your attention. Obviously, those areas where guests are most likely to visit should be included in the list. Such places include the patio, the entryway leading to the house, the lawn, the living room, the bathrooms, and the dining room.

Begin cleaning from the outside, and work your way in. Clean the entryway, patio, and lawn of dirt. Move aside any obstructions such as potted plants that are in the way of paths that guests are likely to walk on. If you have rented DJ equipment, set aside an adequate space for the equipment and their staff.

Inside, you need to remove clutter. Removing clutter gives your room a clean appearance. Store away things that are not needed like exercise machines, extra lampshades, and home decors. Move furniture like sofas, tables, and chairs against the wall. Reserve a space for rented DJ equipment. The idea here is to create a large area for guests to congregate in and move freely inside your home.

When it comes to serving food, a buffet is usually the best system of serving meals to large numbers of people. Thus, put a long buffet table, or your dining table, on the side of the wall where guests can serve themselves. Finally, when you finish cleaning all the relevant areas, you can add decorative touches such as cute flower arrangements, candles, or sculptures.
